Preoperative Planning & Analysis

By using suitable programs and specialized staff, measurements and analysis of geometrically-complex structures or structures that cannot be visible during the operation can be carried out. In addition, the absolute fitting of the chosen reconstruction materials can be virtually checked. Surgical trauma is therefore minimized and the appropriate implants can be selected in advance.

A proper preoperative planning saves valuable operation time and cost while, in the meantime, it offers greater security to the patient and the doctor. For instance, the right measurements can give us the accurate volume of a bone defect, the amount of bone that needs to be removed during an oncologic surgery, the angle at which an osteotomy should be carried out, etc.

Applications

3D reconstruction and measurements on cranial and tibial bones

Measurements on maxilla and thoracic bones

Calculation of osteotomy angles and virtual fitting of the reconstruction plate and screws
